Agar Musk is an aromatic, woody, spicy scent created for Men and Women in 2009 by perfumer Ramon Monegal.
Review
This scent is woody, yet aromatic. Vetiver is a big player, and the Cedarwood and Cypress add an almost fresh-cut-wood tone within the depth of Agarwood and Leather. It can be worn to the office as easily as it can be worn for any casual or formal occasion, and is the perfect every-day woody scent. It is just light enough that it can be suitable for any season, though it may be too much in hot weather. It has been compared to Halston Man Amber and Tom Ford Oud Wood. Try this sample and let us know what you think!
Inspiration
Inspired by his interest in Al-Andalus, Ramon Monegal went on a journey to create his own interpretation of Oud. The end result was an Arab inspired scent created with Indian Agarwood, infused with Spanish essences.
Notes
Agarwood maintains a lightness with the fresh quality of Cypress and sweetness of the Nutmeg. Oud comes in within the heart, boosting the Agarwood. Leather becomes prominent, but never lingers too strongly. Cedarwood adds a crisp woody element, playing nicely off of the Cypress. Vetiver adds a nice tart grassiness, while Amber and Musk add warmth and a delicate longevity that never overpowers the wood notes.
Top Notes: Nutmeg, Cypress, Agarwood
Heart Notes: Oud, Leather, Cedarwood
