Library Collection: Opus VI is an Amber, Leathery, Woody scent created for Men and Women in 2012 by perfumers Pierre Negrin and Dora Arnaud.
Review
This scent is “The One” for lovers of Amber. Exotic spices fuse with creamy Amber, creating the feeling of the most heavenly sweater wrapped around you on a crisp day. This scent will last all day, becoming more subtle and close to the skin as it dries down. It works well in all seasons, especially in the colder months, and is suitable for any occasion from a day running errands, to the office, to date night. It is comparable to Amouage’s Jubilation XXV Man and L’Artisan’s Timbuktu. Try this sample and let us know what you think!
Inspiration
The Library Collection was created to represent an insatiable quest for knowledge. Opus VI is a romantic interpretation of Amber, long used medicinally for broken hearts, and takes inspiration from the destruction and reinvention of knowledge and memories, symbolizing the end of a love affair.
Notes
A zest of Sichuan Pepper joins smoky Frankincense and warm St. Thomas Bay. Patchouli is smoothed and calmed with green essences of Periploca Graeca and Cypriol. Amber essences of Ambranum and Z11 burst into the composition and infuse themselves throughout, as Cistus and creamy Sandalwood add a final touch of warmth and longevity.
