Review
A classic chypre structure, with a touch of originality and a contemporary finish. The galbanum and vetiver combo gives that metallic facet the perfumer probably looked for to fit the fragrance's name.
Inspiration
A brilliant pioneer, René Lalique was the first to blend glass and gems in his ground-breaking Art Nouveau jewelry, just as perfumers were revolutionizing their art with amazing new synthetic materials. The House of Lalique keeps his innovative spirit alive with the exclusive collection Les Compositions Parfumées, inspired by the alchemy of perfumery, jewelry and crystal-making.
Notes
It opens with a sweet pastry-like lemon/orange and cardamom. It slowly tones down to let a bitter galbanum note fully bloomed, with support of floral, and later a smoky facet given by the vetiver stepping in delicately. It finally dries down with a refined black leather note, supported by a touch of green labdanum.
Top notes: Lemon, Cardamom and Thyme;
Heart notes: Galbanum and Haitian Vetiver;
Base notes: Leather, Patchouli and Labdanum.
