Queenside is a fruity, floral, earthy scent created for Men and Women in 2025 by perfumer Christelle Laprade.
Review
This scent is a sparkling and sweet floral scent. It’s fresh and invigorating, with Cassis, Lychee, and Pear creating a juicy fruity essence that brightens the floral heart. The Geranium especially stands out, adding both its green and floral qualities. Patchouli adds just a touch of its sharpness, or smokiness, but brings a nice, subtle earthiness and depth. Over time, the scent becomes warm, but maintains its zestiness. It almost feels like you just finished eating some fruit, and then stuck your face into a fresh bouquet of flowers….the floral essence envelops your senses, but you can still smell the fruit juices on your hands and face. While it is a universal scent, it does have a slightly feminine lean to it, and is great for anyone who likes a good, bright, fruity fragrance. It is a scent that can be worn any time, place, or occasion. It’s safe enough for the office, and perfect for an everyday scent. It can be worn in any season or weather, but does have a more Spring and Summer vibe to it. It has been compared to Attrape-Reves from Louis Vuitton, and shares some slight similarities with Delina from Parfums de Marly.
Inspiration
In chess, the Queen represents power, strategy, and influence. Queenside inspires us to be confident, to take pride in our power, and to live each moment to the fullest.
Notes
Once you spray this fragrance, you immediately smell the juicy sweetness from the Cassis, Lychee, and Pear. Lily of the Valley and Violet have a subtle sweetness to them that mellows out too much juiciness of the fruits, and boosts the flowers. As the sweetness begins to settle, Geranium adds its floral greenness that pairs well with the earthiness of the Patchouli. When paired with the Oakmoss, Patchouli brings a very subtle sharp or smoky essence that adds a bit of a tart kind of a quality to the overall aroma of the scent. Musk comes in at the end, bringing a wispy, gentle sensual vibe to the finish. The transition from sweet brightness to a sweet warmth and earthiness is intoxicating.
