Opus XII Rose Incense is a smoky, earthy, floral scent created for Men and Women in 2019 by perfumer Bruno Jovanovic.
Review
This scent is the previously named Library Collection Rose Incense, rebottled. It is a perfect blend of Rose and Incense that almost leans ‘jammy’, but doesn’t quite go all the way there. It has a slight green quality to it, but maintains its smoky essence. It can be worn in an office setting if applied lightly, but will work wonderfully for intimate occasions, or moments when you want to boost your confidence, or have that special someone come a little closer. This is a Rose scent for a new, and modern, era. It might be a little too rich for the warmer weather, but will work well in most seasons, and will last for hours. It shares similarities with the discontinued Opus X, which was a green, Rose, scent, and has been compared to Rosa Gallica by Brecourt Paris.
Inspiration
Opus XII Rose Incense is inspired by the ‘Rosebud’ mystery of Citizen Kane. It reminds us that not all difficulties in life are shrouded in mystery, but can be as unassuming and innocent as childhood memories.
Notes
This scent begins with the smoky essences of Elemi and Olibanum Hyper Absolute(Frankincense), and a Black Ink Accord. Damascena Rose Water Essential gives this scent its blast of Rose in the heart, followed closely by Suederal and smoky Frankincense Absolute. In the base, Myrrh keeps the smoky essences thriving, and Sandalwood and Cedar add a gentle earthy touch. A final note of Vanilla adds a smooth quality to this scent, boosting the Rose note in the heart.
