Review
This scent is immediately woody and smoky. There is a fresh element to it that comes from a blend of its floral heart and Fougere essences in the opening, but the depth of the Resins, Patchouli, and Cedarwood are intense. It kind of feels like you’re wearing Reflection Man, but you’ve just come out of a wood shop. It’s an intoxicatingly appealing sweet Fougere meets crisp wood scent. If Reflection Man is what you wore throughout your 20s, then Reflection 45 Man is what you’re wearing in your 40s. 45 is so much more refined, sophisticated, elegant, boss man. It might be just a little bit too much for an enclosed space, like an office, but can work for just about any time you need to get a little bit dressed up for something, whether that be a party, a night out, date night, weddings, etc. Its 45% pure oil strength will make this scent last forever on you. It’s a great scent for the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. It has been compared to Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male.
Inspiration
Like its original counterpart, Reflection 45 Man embodies the spirit of refinement, twisting things around with a woody and smoky essence. It transports you to another time and place, where things are familiar, yet not.
Notes
Though the Myrrh, Frankincense and Opoponax lay in the base of this scent, you can smell them immediately. They intensify further as the Sandalwood and Cedarwood set in early as well. After a few minutes, you can smell the subtle Fougere essences begin to set it. Pink Pepper, Cardamom, Clary Sage and Juniper blend with a floral heart of Neroli, Orris, Jasmine and Angelica. Benzoin, Tonka Bean and Vanilla boost these lighter essences gently, without turning anything too sweet, and you can smell that classic Reflection Man DNA filled with the depth of this new essence. As everything blends together, the earthy elements of Vetiver and Patchouli further the depth of the resins and woods, and everything becomes incredibly rich.
