Queening is a sweet, floral, Vanilla scent created for Men and Women in 2023 by perfumer Christelle Laprade.

Review

This scent is sweet and creamy and Vanilla. It feels just a touch different than most Vanilla fragrances, as Whipped Vanilla Bean is used in this composition, and then paired with Rum, Apple, and Coconut. It is a dreamy scent that borders a desert-like essence, without being too sweet. It is simply heavenly. Iris plays a minor role in this scent, adding its iconic essence without becoming an “Iris” scent. It leans gently toward a feminine vibe, but is suitable for anyone who likes a Gourmand scent. It can be worn to the office or for any casual outing, and is perfect for any time you’re feeling flirty and playful. It is comparable, slightly, to Parfums de Marly Oriana, with a more mature and elegant essence to it. Try this sample and let us know what you think!

Inspiration

In Chess, Queening is the act of promoting a pawn to a Queen when it reaches the other side of the Chess board.

Notes

This scent starts out simply as Vanilla. Very quickly, though, you realize it’s not just your typical Vanilla scent. The Whipped Vanilla Bean adds a heavenly, creamy quality. Slowly you begin to smell the Rum, then the Apple, then the gentle cotton note. As everything begins to meld together, Coconut comes into play, creating a creamy nuance that adds an almost desert-like sweetness. In the end, Musk adds a gentle sultry vibe.
