This scent feels elegant and romantic. It has a feel that is reminiscent of something vintage while maintaining a vibe that borders on the exotic. It makes the heart race, conjuring images of being a child in awe of the vanity full of cosmetics and pretty things that you weren’t allowed to touch. You can feel the Lavender and Jasmine blending to create something unique that is both pleasant and biting. A bit of Egyptian Musk comes in later, adding a hint of seduction. This is a scent that dances the line between casual and formal. Inspiration
Elixir of Love No.1 is inspired by a Victorian era recipe found in the Caswell-Massey archives. Dedicated to a time when “loud” perfumes were seen as tasteless, it is infused with the love of modern perfume making.
Notes
Lavender is immediately recognizable in the opening of this scent. It is quickly joined by Jasmine and the slightly bitter essence of Artemisia Absinthium(Wormwood), giving the composition an interesting depth. Passion Flower boosts the gentle floral feel of this scent as Egyptian Musk comes in with the base, adding a subtle sultry quality. White Woods add depth and longevity to this unique blend.
