Original Santal is a woody, aromatic, spicy scent created for Men and Women in 2005 by perfumer Pierre Bourdon.
Review
This scent is fresh and refined. It leans almost Fougere in style with a soft note of Sandalwood that is brightened with citruses and invigorating spices. It holds an air of adventure and elegance at the same time. It can be worn any time, place, occasion, or event, and in any season. While it will stay close to the skin, it will last. It is comparable to Montblanc Individuel, another Pierre Bourdon creation.
Inspiration
Original Santal is inspired by the splendor of India, combining the refreshing and rich essence that embody the regal and spiritual essences of this divine realm.
Notes
Sandalwood can be found in the base of this scent, but is felt very subtly within a fresh opening of Ginger, Orange Tree Absolute, and Lemon. In the heart, soft earthy tones of Lavender and Rosemary are blended with the bright spices of Cinnamon, Peppermint, and Pink Berries. In the base, Mysore Sandalwood is boosted with the warmth of Ambergris and Cedar, and given a thread of sweetness with Benzoin and Vanilla. A final note of Tonkin Musk brings the essence of this scent back to its spices.
