LP01 Mystic Rose is a Musky, earthy, Rose scent created for Men and Women in 2022 by perfumers Frank Voelkl, Emilie Copperworth, and Alain Allione.
Review
This scent is Rosy and Musky. It feels like a giant bouquet of Roses. White Peony adds a hint of freshness, Golden Amber a bit of warmth, Black Tea and Black Pepper a gentle spiciness, and Musk a bit of wispy depth. While things are mellowing out, the Incense adds a faint smokiness, and you can catch hints of the Cedarwood. Things warm up, and it becomes more than ‘just a Rose scent’. While nothing about the scent feels distinctly feminine, it is very floral and is a perfect scent for those who adore Rose fragrances. It kind of has an ethereal feel to it, like someone who has been spending their afternoons in a dense garden and always smells of Roses. It has a little bit of a classic vibe to it in the beginning, but maintains a modern vibe, especially as the warmer notes begin to unfold. It is a great scent for any time, place, or occasion, will work in any weather, and can easily be dressed up or down to fit any setting. It has been compared to The Noir 29 from Le Labo.
Inspiration
03 Mystic Rose plays with the concept of the Rose being a gentle and innocent flower. When you wear a Rose fragrance, it adds an innocence to the wearer that brings out a playful and lovable side that those around them find endearing.
Notes
You can immediately feel the Centifolia Rose upon the opening of this scent. The White Peony adds a softness that pairs nicely with the Rose. Black Pepper and Black Tea add a subtle spice to the scent, without becoming too much, and Golden Amber adds a nice warmth. Vanilla can be felt just under the surface, never making anything too sweet. Jasmine also lies just under the surface, never adding its familiar floral essence, but boosting the Rose. Musk adds a wispy depth to the overall tone of the scent. Incense and Cedar Wood come in at the end, both in very subtle ways, but definitely there. These, paired with the Patchouli, bring a very faint earthiness to the dry down of the scent, which begins to temper the intense Rosiness of the scent. Overall, it is a Rose fragrance.
