Review
This scent is a beautifully perfect blend of citruses, flowers, and woods. Mandarin, Lemon, Bergamot, and Orange bring a brightness to the opening of the scent, but not in a juicy, sparkly, tangy way that you might expect. Lily of the Valley and Orange Blossom come in close behind them, enveloping the freshness within their blooming petals. It almost feels like pure Orange Blossom, gently infused with a soft citrus element. While Lily of the Valley can be a quiet note, it shines brightly alongside the Orange Blossom. Some Orange Blossom scents can create a powdery essence, but the citruses and woods in the mix make it so this never becomes a powdery scent. Cypress and Cedar bring in a crisp woody element, though things never become too woody, maybe due to the Sandalwood adding a warmth and sweetness that blends effortlessly into the sweetness of citruses and flowers. Patchouli and Vetiver help to add to the earthiness and depth of the scent, but only in a way that helps everything last longer. It almost feels like a perfect blend of everything. It definitely has a potency to it that will make it last all day on the skin, which might not make it the best scent for the office. It has a slightly sensual, slightly casual, slightly chaotic essence to it that will make it perfect for just about any time, place, or occasion, and will work well in all seasons. Inspiration
Wild Orange takes inspiration from citruses and their invigorating energy, and pairs them with flowers and woods to evoke the essence of all of the facets of a blooming Orange Blossom Tree.
Notes
You can smell the citrus elements of Mandarin, Lemon, Bergamot, and Orange immediately upon spraying this scent, but Lily of the Valley and Orange Blossom come in so fast behind them, that they are almost instantly a background note to the flowers. The Orange Blossom and Lily take over the citruses, enveloping them into a warm type of citrus aroma. The Mandarin and Orange boost the gentle citrusy qualities of the Orange Blossom. Cypress and Cedar tend to have a crisp, almost clean, woody element to them in fragrance, so they bring a woody quality, but it’s not too much. Sandalwood brings it naturally sweet and warm aroma, adding to the woodiness as well as to the depth of the floral essence. Patchouli and Vetiver are essentially background players here, adding to the depth and earthiness, but never making this feel like a Patchouli scent or a Vetiver scent. The overall feel is a citrus floral with a gentle woody nuance.
