Coro is a warm, fruity, floral scent created for Men and Women in 2025 by Chris Maurice.
It is a re-release of the Selfridge’s exclusive, originally created in 2019.
Review
This scent is a sparkling fruity floral fragrance. It’s not overly fruity, like the pyramid might make you think. It feels like the gentleness of the flowers is boosted and sweetened by the Tropical Fruits, Pineapple, and Mango, and given a creamy essence from the Vanilla. The Sandalwood and Amber bring warmth and depth without taking away from the lightness of everything. As everything dries down, you can feel the fruits peeking out every now and then. While this scent is universal, like the other Vibe Collection fragrances, Coro has a very gentle, innocent and playful feel to it. This feels like the fragrance you might wear on the first day of school, a first date, a meeting….places where you want to make an impression with your overall vibe, and feel good, without wearing an overpowering scent. It has a very mild, casually elegant, yet still playful vibe to it. It starts off with more intensity, and becomes more intimate as it dries on the skin, but it lasts for hours. While it does have a more Spring and Summer vibe to it, it can be worn in any weather and/or season, and it works well for any time, place, or occasion, though it does have a little bit more of a casual lean to it. For a fleeting moment, it has a very subtle similarity to Erba Pura, and kind of has an Erba Pura undertone to it, but Coro becomes its own scent once the fruit notes mellow out.
Coro is presented with a unique silk neck scarf designed by Xerjoff and produced by famous silk manufacturers in Lake Como.
Inspiration
Coro inspires an invigorating energy. It ‘hypes up’ the senses, getting you excited for a new day. Coro comes from the Greek “Choros”, Coro in Italian, meaning “Dance” or “Chorus”, and creates an energy of your scent singing on your skin.
Notes
The Tropical Fruits note, Pineapple, and Mango almost create a fruity blast, but it never feels like it’s too much. While they do mellow out quite quickly, they boost the Orris and Jasmine in the heart, giving them a brightness. Vanilla pairs with the Orris, bringing a very gentle creamy essence to the scent. Sandalwood and Amber bring warmth and depth to the dry down of the scent, without weighing it down at all. Musk adds a wispy, almost-sensual essence, which likely helps to keep things light and warm in the finish.
