Blonde Amber is a smoky, Amber, Vanilla scent created for Men and Women in 2022 by perfumer Vincent Ricord.
Review
This scent is rich, smooth and decadent. It feels regal and warm, and has the smooth and velvety quality that has come to be familiar with Amber scents. Blonde Tobacco adds a subtle hint of its smoky, almost realistic Tobacco Leaf, essence that intoxicates the senses. It conjures the image of a swanky party in a mansion decorated in rich Amber colored woods. Men drink brandies and smoke cigars, and the women sip on champagne and smoke cigarettes from their elongated cigarette holders. The air is smoky and warm and perfumed with beautiful people. The scent doesn’t feel too intense though. A blend of almost Indolic Jasmine, Dried Fruits, Tonka and Vanilla all help to mellow any sharpness you might expect, only helping to create a fragrance that feels luxurious and opulent with a faint hint of sweetness. It might be a bit too much for the office, but is a perfect fragrance to grab for professional settings and formal occasions, while also being a great sensual scent for evenings out for drinks, date nights, and elegant parties. Its 25% oil concentration makes it last on the skin, and the projection is decent. It will work great for Fall, Winter, and Spring weather. The dry down has a similar vibe to Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Grand Soir, but with more depth and warmth.
Inspiration
Noble XII Blonde Amber takes inspiration from Amber itself, which was a popular material and color to use in the Art Deco era of the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Notes
This scent is immediately warm and Ambery. The Blonde Tobacco sets in right behind it, tempered by the brightness of Bitter Orange, and the almost Indolic essence of Jasmine and Tuberose. Dried Fruits add a faint warm, sweet essence as the Tobacco note intensifies. The warm and velvety essence of Amber deepens, and begins a passionate dance with the Tobacco. The Tobacco is very much present, but not too intense or sharp. In the base, Tonka and Vanilla bring a sweetness that helps to deepen the richer notes, add a hint of sweetness, and help with the overall smoothness of the scent. Eventually the Tobacco moves into the background and the Amber moves forward, pairing enticingly with the Vanilla. Everything becomes an intricate dance, continuously changing on the skin.
