Review

This scent opens with an airy spiciness from the Aniseed and Coffee. You can catch hints of the Jasmine and Orange Flower intermingling with the warm sweetness of the Cocoa Absolute and Vanilla Caramel accord. A Smoke Fusion accord brings a subtle smokiness that never overpowers anything, but adds a richness that is very enticing. It leans slightly into the Gourmand territory, but never fully goes there. It almost paints a picture of enjoying a luxurious Coffee drink on a deck surrounded by fragrance flowers while Incense burns nearby….or like a perfectly curated meditation room filled with fresh flowers and Incense. It feels comforting and ethereal and unique with elements that are sweet, spicy, floral and smoky. It is a scent that can be worn just about any time, place or occasion, but does have a more sophisticated vibe to it. It has a balance of light and dark, and feels appropriate for Fall, Winter and Spring. It’s a great scent for times when you want to feel your best and make an impression. Though it has a more intimate vibe on the skin, it will last with its 25% oil concentration. It has a vibe kind of like Amouage Lilac Love with additional notes of Coffee and Incense. Inspiration

Strange Heavens Out of the Blue takes inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray and a scene where he describes those in a Victorian-era Opium Den as being in ‘Strange Heavens’, referring to the suffering and joy of their addictions. 

The bottle design was done in collaboration with acclaimed contemporary artist, Domingo Zapata, who lends his signature Panda motif.

Notes

This scent opens with the airy spiciness of Coffee and Aniseed. It’s like a sparkling burst at first, quickly mellowing into the warm sweetness of Cocoa Absolute and a Vanilla Caramel Accord. Egyptian Jasmine and Orange Flower lie just under the surface adding a very gentle floral element that seems to come and go. The Addictive Fusion Accord blends with the Smoke Fusion accord to create an aroma that you can almost feel through your whole body, like something you truly enjoy fully taking over your senses. There is a very subtle smoky essence that is very appealing. Overall it is a unique spicy, sweet, floral, smoky scent.
