LP03 Wooden Face is a woody, sweet, earthy scent created for Men and Women by perfumers Frank Voelkl, Emilie Copperworth, and Alain Allione.
Review
This scent has a creamy woodiness to it that feels light and mellow. This is probably due to the Fig, which adds its gentle, slightly earthy, slightly fruity, sweetness. Tea and Cardamom add the faintest of spiciness to the mix, but the Sandalwood stands out next to the Fig. Sandalwood, oftentimes, has its own type of creaminess, and this pairs perfectly with the creaminess of the Fig. As things dry down, it develops a little more of a Musky softness, but still remains predominately Fig and Sandalwood. It is a great scent for any time, place, or occasion, though it does have a little more of a casual essence to it, and will work in any season. Inspiration
LP03 Wooden Face takes inspiration from the craftsmen who would make the wooden masks for the actors in ancient Greece. The masks were called ‘Persona’, and were thought to release a new person from within you.
Notes
As soon as this scent opens you can smell the Fig blended with the Sandalwood. Tea and Cardamom bring the faintest spiciness, and Orange can be felt just under the surface, adding a light freshness. Sweet Pea and Jasmine add a hint of a floral essence to the scent, but mostly just boost the sweetness of the Fig. Cashmere Wood deepens the woodiness slightly, and then Musk comes in at the end, adding its wispy quality to the drydown of the scent. Overall, it remains a blend of Fig and Sandalwood.
