African Leather is a spicy, aromatic, Leather scent created for Men and Women in 2015 by perfumer Alienor Massenet.
Review
This scent is spicy and dry. Bergamot Oil adds a brightness to the melange of spices mixed with Patchouli, Oud, and Leather. You can imagine a jungle explorer scented with the spices and dirt of his recent long journey, his well-worn leather satchel filled with herbs, spices, and plants from a faraway village. He oozes adventure and ruggedness, and floods the imagination with temptations. This is a scent that can be worn to the office, but is much better suited for any other time, place or occasion when you can let your wild side out. It can be worn casually or dressed up for formal settings. It can be worn in all seasons and will last through your day. It has been compared to L’Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer Perfumes and Ivory Route by Xerjoff.
Inspiration
African Leather is inspired by Africa and its infinite beauty. It captures memories of the sights, sounds, and aromas of the beautiful landscape and the dry essence of this desert paradise.
Notes
Though Bergamot is the only citrus addition to this scent, it can be felt lingering throughout this composition. Saffron helps to keep things bright as Cumin, Cardamom, and Geranium come in to create a rich heart. Patchouli and Vetiver add an earthy layer, and Oud adds a depth that helps with longevity. A Leather note comes in and pairs well with the spices, both helping each other to thrive. A final note of Musk adds a subtle sultry quality to this exotic scent.
