Aurelia was created by Paolo Terenzi in 2017. It is a scent inspired by nature and designed as a wellness therapy for the spirit.
Review
This is a woody, spicy, fresh, aromatic scent that captures the essence of the Aurelian Way with a blend of herbs, spices, Guaiac Wood, Cedar and Patchouli. Bergamot pairs with the brightness of the Cedar, adding a freshness to the overall feel of the scent. Coumarin and Tonka Bean mellow things toward the finish of the scent without adding any sweetness. It feels earthy with both a calming and energizing essence. You can almost imagine walking along the Aurelian Way, taking in the aromas of the trees, bushes and flowers mingling with the aromas of the spices and herbs collected during your travels. It feels so simple yet so complex at the same time. While it maintains this earthy essence into the dry down of the scent, it is something you can wear any time, place or occasion, and is safe for the office. Its warmth feels best suited for the Fall, Winter and early Spring weather, but can be worn any time you desire. It has a casual elegance to it that will make it an easy reach for any time you want something with a little more going on than the aqua/blue scents out there. This scent has a vibe that lies somewhere in between Amouage Memoir Man AND Woman, but maintains a universal quality.
Inspiration
Aurelia is named after the Aurelian Way, now known as Via Aurelia, a road along the Tyrrhenian coast in Italy that ultimately helped to expand trading throughout the land. This scent is brimming with the fragrances of the lush Mediterranean vegetation, and you will find yourself imagining what it would have been like to travel that route with your wares.
Notes
A hint of Bergamot hides within a blend of spices, while a touch of sweet Tonka Bean is wrapped up in Cedar and Guaiac Wood. A final blend of earthy Patchouli and warm Amber are enveloped with Vanilla Bean and Vanilla-like Coumarin. The sweet and spice entangle themselves to create a truly unique scent.
