Ormonde Woman is a green, woody, aromatic scent created for Women in 2002 by perfumer Geza Schoen. It was re-released in 2024 as a Parfum.
Review
This scent is interesting. It begins with the vibes of a dark forest. Black Hemlock boasts a dark and foggy quality that is reminiscent of the depths of the forest. You can almost imagine a magical enchantress who lives deep in the woods. Her aroma is narcotic and enveloping. As things dry down, Grass Oil blends with Vetiver and Cedarwood, creating an almost refreshing and bright vibe. Your time spent with the mysterious enchantress is like a foggy dream now. This is a scent that can be worn any time, place, or occasion, but will work best for moments when you want the attention of that special someone. Its seductive essence slowly becomes refreshing, making it perfect to transition from day to evening activities. It can be worn in any season, and will last as it slowly becomes more intimate over time. It has been compared to Gypsy Water from Byredo.
Inspiration
Ormonde Woman is inspired by the search for rare ingredients that are not typically found in perfume. Black Hemlock satiated that search with its dusky and seductive earthy qualities.
Notes
Cardamom and Coriander bring out the darkness of Black Hemlock, releasing the dark aromas of the forest. Jasmine lives in the heart, staying calm under the earthy tones of this scent. Grass Oil releases the grassy quality of Vetiver, and adds a crisp quality to Cedarwood, taking this scent from dark to light. Amber and Sandalwood add depth without taking away from the mysterious depths of this scent.
