Rea is a soft, floral, earthy scent created in 2019 by Paolo Terenzi. Part of the “Titans Collection”, it is one of 8 scents that is inspired by the origins of the world, and the Titans and Titanides who represent the profound forces that determined nature and her rules.
Review
This scent is a beautiful floral bouquet sent with Imperial Iris and Flag Iris shining brightly. There is a very gentle cosmetic-like aroma that Iris can naturally create, but there is a wonderful petally creaminess with the addition of Magnolia, Jasmine and Rose. Citruses add a gentle brightness while a blend of Leather, Vanilla Berries, Sandalwood and Patchouli add a warm depth. It almost smells like your nose is right up against a thick and waxy Iris petal and you're breathing in deeply. Or like you have a fresh bouquet of Irises and their aroma is filling the room you've placed them in with an intoxicating floral cloud. Over time the Sandalwood and Patchouli reveal themselves, adding a hint more of an earthiness to the dry down of the scent. Even then, the petally floral aroma remains. The Extrait essence of this scent will make it last throughout your day. It has a casual elegance that will work for any and all occasions on your calendar. It can easily be dressed up or down for anything casual or formal, and will work well in an office setting. It is a scent that will create an ethereal, romantic, essence and have you feeling your best. It is comparable to Goutal Paris’ Etoile d’Une Nuit, Ramon Monegal’s Impossible Iris, and Amouage Opus V Woods Symphony with a more soft and petally essence. Inspiration
This scent takes inspiration from the Titaness Rhea, wife of Cronus, who is considered to be the “Mother of Gods”. One story states that her intense love made fragrant flowers bloom over lush meadows and succulent fruit sprang from the earth, but that same passion could also encompass the strength of volcanoes and earthquakes.
Notes
This scent is a beautiful floral bouquet with an intoxicating Iris infusion. Using both Imperial and Flag Iris, it is heightened with Magnolia, Lavender, Rose, and Jasmine. A subtle touch of citrus gives way to a hint of Tuscan Leather. An earthy base of Oak Moss, Birch, Sandalwood and Patchouli are softened by Vanilla Berries. Nothing overpowers the Iris, and so it lives on throughout the composition.
