Ani is a Wam, Vanilla, Amber scent created in 2019 by perfumer Cecile Zarokian.
Review
This is almost a soft gourmand that anyone can wear. It stays soft while lasting all day and is perfect for Vanilla lovers who want a flirty, playful scent. It has been compared to a softer, sweeter version of Grand Soir.
Inspiration
Ani takes its name from the Ani Ruins, a medieval Armenian city on the Turkish border that was once a bustling commercial center along the ancient Silk Road. It takes inspiration from the Anatolian folk song “Sari Gelin”, or “Sari Gyalin” in Armenian, a love song that would be akin to the infamous Romeo and Juliet story. The similarities in both songs portraying the idea that we are not all so different as we would think.
Notes
A fresh quality can be felt right away with bright Bergamot, crisp Ginger and a thread of Green notes. Black Currant and Cardamom blend and create an almost lemony feel as this scent settles on the skin. A hint of Turkish Rose blends beautifully with soft woods as warm Ambergris blends with the sweetness of Vanilla and Benzoin and a touch of sultry Musk that keeps this scent lasting.
