Almond is a note in fragrance that not many people might think of unless they’re into Gourmand style fragrances.
It does have a slightly Gourmand essence in fragrances, but in a much more refined and elegant way.
Almonds are classified as nuts, but are technically a fruit in the Drupe family….a type of Stone Fruit. They fall into the same family as Peaches, Plums, Cherries, Olives, and Coconuts.
In fragrances Almond can add a variety of aromas, including creamy, sweet, Vanilla-like, powdery, milky, and can create a feeling of nostalgia and comfort.
Almond from Caswell-Massey - This scent is pretty much just ALMOND. It blends Almond Flower with Cherry, Tonka Bean, and a Salt Accord and sits somewhere between smelling like Almond Extract and a sweet Solar type beachy scent.
Yin Transformation from The Harmonist - This scent has a creamy, milky, lactonic essence with Almond Milk blended with creamy notes of Ylang Ylang and Iris.
Valaya Exclusif from Parfums de Marly - This scent is soft and creamy with a delicate essence. Almond and Vanilla add a creamy aspect to a powdery blend of Powdery Facets and Orange Blossom. Sandalwood adds a soft warmth and depth, but the scent remains soft, powdery, and sweet.
Pegasus from Parfums de Marly - In this scent, Bitter Almond pairs with Vanilla and Amber to add a sweet warmth to an earthy blend of Cypress, Lavender, Bergamot, and Sandalwood. The aroma is sweet and spicy.
Blossom Love from Amouage - This scent is sweet, slightly syrupy, and boozy. It uses Amaretto, an Italian Almond flavored Liqueur with Rose Liquor, Cherry Blossom Nectar, Ylang Ylang, and Vanilla alongside a subtle warmth and depth of Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, and Cashmeran.
Sunshine Woman from Amouage - This scent is soft, sweet, and warm, almost embodying the essence of sun-skissed skin. Almond joins the fruity essence of Davana, Blackcurrant Liquor, and Vanilla alongside a floral heart and a gentle earthy and warm base of Cade, Patchouli, Blond Tobacco, and Papyrus.
Rouge Smoking Extrait from BDK Parfums - This scent is more of a Cherry based scent. It’s sweet, warm, and more sultry than its Eau de Parfum version. Almond can be felt adding to the sweetness alongside Citruses, Napoleon Cherry, a Milk Accord, Black Vanilla, and Vanilla-like resins of Tonka Bean and Benzoin. The depth comes from a blend of leathery Labdanum, Saffron, Oud, Amber Woods, Martinique Rum, Patchouli and Ambroxan. The blend of bright sweetness and deep warmth creates an intoxicating, mysterious, and sultry scent.
These are amazing Almond infused fragrances where Almond is mostly front and center in the composition. There are other scents with Almond in the mix, but not ‘Almond fragrances’.
