The term ‘Boozy Fragrance’ is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. A fragrance that smells boozy, whether it has liquor notes in it or not.

Oftentimes, these scents will actually have accords of Whiskey, Rum, Bourbon, Cognac or Oak Barrel Accord or Whiskey Barrel Accord.

They give an aroma similar to the aroma of the actual liquor, and can sometimes create that same warmth within the senses.

Belvedere from Eight & Bob is a rich, smooth and sweet fragrance with Rum blended into Honey, Caramel, Vanilla and Patchouli. It almost has an aroma like a smooth and sweet Old Fashioned cocktail.

Side Effect from Initio Parfums is a sweet and spicy boozy scent that blends Rum with Vanilla, Tobacco, Cinnamon and Saffron. It kinda captures the aroma as if you’ve added some Rum to your Cocoa or Coffee.

Narcotic Delight from Initio Parfums is relatively similar to Side Effect, blending Cognac with Vanilla, Pepper and Cherry, giving this scent more of a sweet and syrupy vibe.

Enigma Pour Homme ~ sometimes still called Creation-E Pour Homme ~ from Roja is on the smooth and subtle side with Cognac, Citruses, Ginger and Flowers, with the warmth of Benzoin, Vanilla and Amber. This same blend also kind of captures a Cola essence, giving the scent a vibe like a Rum and Coke.

Blossom Love from Amouage is pretty sweet and syrupy, blending Cherry Blossom Nectar, Rose Liquor and an Amaretto Accord with additionally sweet notes of Ylang Ylang and Vanilla, and the warmth of Cashmeran and Sandalwood. It kind of feels like a flower based cocktail.

Ethereal Flame from 86 West is a sweet and spicy scent that blends Whiskey with Fruits, Cinnamon and Vanilla that creates an aroma like a Mulled Wine.

Kingside from Mind Games feels something like a frothy holiday cocktail, blending Amber Rum, Pistachio, Almond Milk, Cinnamon, Hazelnut Flower, Tonka Bean and Peru Balsam.

Overture Man from Amouage is rich and intense with Cognac blended into Spices, Leather and Resins. It kind of conjures the image of a time when well-to-do men would disappear into dark rooms filled with Leather Chairs, Cigars and dark cocktails.

Opus V Woods Symphony from Amouage is subdued and elegant. It blends Rum with two types of Orris, Rose and Woods. It conjures the image of a debonair gentleman sipping on a glass of Rum with a fragrance Iris boutonniere in his lapel.

Then we have a few honorable mentions of fragrances that do not actually contain any boozy or cocktail adjacent notes, but have an amora like they do.

LP02 Peacock Feather from Le Persona opens with a blend of Lemon, Lime and Bergamot, tempered slightly with White Flowers and a hint of Coconut. It kind of has that fizzy essence like a refreshing Vodka Soda with Lime. It’s sparkly, effervescent and fresh.

Torino 21 from Xerjoff opens with a zesty blend of Lemon and Verbena, Verbena being naturally lemony itself, paired with the herbal tones of Basil, Thyme and Mint, and then a little bit of sweetness from Blackcurrant. It kind of feels like a freshly made Mojito.

Cocktail Maracuja from New Notes blends Passionfruit, Blackcurrant, Pear, Strawberry and Lemon with a subtle, zingy, spiciness from Ginger, Cinnamon and Cardamom, and additional sweetness from Vanilla and a Lactonic Accord, making it feel like a fruity, sweet and spicy cocktail.

Check Please from Mind Games is on the sweeter side, blending Green Apple, Black Plum, Rose and Nougat with the subtle spicy sweetness of Hazelnut and Cinnamon, and an Oak Barrel Accord, giving the scent an aroma like a yogurt-based cocktail.

Herod from Parfums de Marly blends the sweetness of Vanilla Pods and Tonka Bean with the richer essences of Spices, Incense and Tobacco, to create a scent that kind of smells like Apple Pie Moonshine.

Oud Bleu Intense from Fragrance du Bois is more on the intense side, like the name implies, blending the brightness of Mandarin with the sweet and spicy tones of Cardamom and Hazelnut, tons of Resins and Oud, to create a scent that is intensely woody with an essence of a very strong Old fashioned cocktail. It almost smells like what I imagine the inside of an old Whiskey cask might smell like.

So you can see how wide the variety of ‘Boozy Fragrances’ can be, from strong and intense, to warm and cozy, to fresh and invigorating.
