Lira is a sweet, fresh, Gourmand fragrance that was launched in 2011. It was created by perfumer Chris Maurice, who has created a great number of other amazing fragrances for both Sospiro and Xerjoff. It was launched under the Casamorati house, which is an extension of the Xerjoff brand.
The fragrance blends citruses with flowers, Licorice, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, and hints of Cinnamon and Lavender.
The overall aroma is something along the lines of a Lemon Pound Cake, but it is so much more than that. While sweet, it is also refreshing. At the same time as this, it has a provocative essence to it. It is described as a ‘Femme Fatale’ scent, but also as ‘a simple fragrance with enormous impact’. And both are true.
It has an almost mouth-watering essence to it with the Vanilla and Caramel. You can catch faint hints of the Lavender, and the citrus notes keep things fresh overall. The Cinnamon adds faint hints of itself every now and then, and the Jasmine note kind plays just under the surface. While it doesn’t scream “Jasmine” at all, those who know what Jasmine can do in a scent will feel it there. The Musk in the base adds the perfect amount of depth to the overall sweetness of the scent.
At the end of the day, this is a Gourmand Vanilla scent and is especially great for those who love things along the lines of dessert-on-the-skin.
The scent pyramid breaks down as:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Blood Orange, Lavanda Flowers
Heart Notes: Rose, Jasmine, Cinnamon, Licorice Blossom
Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Caramel
It’s still a fan favorite today, and so far as I’ve smelt, not many Gourmand Vanilla scents can do what Lira does.
So if you’re in the mood for a Vanilla scent that dances between sensual and playful, but still maintains a level of dessert-like goodness, then Casamorati Lira is the scent you want.
