French Defense was released in 2023 with the addition of the Soulmates collection to the Mind Games fragrance house.
Everything about the Mind Games collection takes inspiration from the game of Chess. A game of the mind. French Defense is an opening move made by the Black King’s Pawn. It is meant to take control of the center of the board and prevent the White side’s Pawns from moving forward.
The fragrance is a universal Cherry base scent that uses Black Cherry that has been soaked in dark liquor before being distilled. Paired with the brightness of Rose and Mimosa, and the creamy warmth of Amber, it boasts a syrupy, rich, and smooth essence. If you close your eyes and breathe deep, you can almost imagine yourself smelling an open container of high end dark Cherries soaking in their juices. But it’s so much better than that on the skin!
Perfumer Christelle Laprade created this fragrance to be bold and mouthwatering, and a scent that will warm to the skin in a seductive way.
It’s slightly Gourmand, slightly Boozy, slightly sweet, slightly bright, and entirely intoxicating.
