Kouros is a fragrance that has been beloved by men around the world for decades.
Created my master perfumer Pierre Bourdon in 1981, it was inspired by a trip to Greece and taking in the splendor of the blue of the sea and sky, the freshness everywhere, and the beauty of the Kouroi, Kouros in modern terms, the Grecian statues of young men. It has been called “The Scent of the Gods” and “King Kouros”.
The bottle also has some Grecian inspiration, with it looking like a Greek column.
Pierre Bourdon has created many infamous fragrances such as Cool Water, and a variety of Creed scents, including the infamous Aventus.
The fragrance is aromatic, Musky, and Leathery with a Fougere twist.
In the beginning, it was described as carnal, sweaty, almost fecal, but had a strange sex appeal to it. It was a love it or hate it scent. It has been reformulated many times since its creation, and when you smell it now, you can see what it might have been once.
Compared to these types of descriptions, it feels like it still has similar vibes, but in a much more toned down, easily wearable way. It still feels slightly carnal and sweaty, but with an airy, clean, sexy essence. When you smell it, and give it a chance to dry down on the skin, it does have an attractive aroma. It’s the type of scent for the mature gentleman with a striking aura about him. He is mysterious, but approachable, and you want to know him.
It has some of the common Fougere notes - Bergamot, Clary Sage, Geranium, Oakmoss, musk, Vanilla, which create a subtle earthy, slightly soapy essence. Incense, Honey, and Leather add a nice, slightly sharp quality that will keep it lasting, and adds the type of depth that you feel in your chest.

Heart Notes: Carnation, Vetiver, Patchouli, Cinnamon, Jasmine, Orris Root, Geranium
Base Notes: Oakmoss, Amber, Incense, Honey, Leather, Civet, Musk, Tonka Bean, Vanilla
This scent is suitable for a grown man. It might be a bit much for the office, but is perfectly suitable for formal occasions, dates, evening occasions, or any time you want to seduce.
Even though it comes in the Eau de Toilette, it has great longevity and projection, but is definitely a try-before-you-buy scent.
