Oud Jasmin is a floral, spicy, woody scent created for Men and Women in 2016 by perfumer Antonio Visconti.
Review
This scent is a Jasmine lover’s dream. The Oud plays a small role in this scent, and the woods and spices give the floral nuances a sensual vibe that never becomes too intense or cloying. It can work in an office setting if applied sparingly, but will work best for intimate evening occasions and formal settings. It will work well in most seasons and weather, though may be too much in high temperatures. It has been compared to Noix de Tubereuse from Miller Harris, but is really in a class all its own.
Inspiration
Oud Jasmin is inspired by the mystery and allure of Arabic culture. The caravans crossing the seas of sand with their exotic goods that would scent the palaces with their intoxicating aromas. At the same time it is an ode to Jasmine and its double nature of love and sensuality.
Notes
Ylang Ylang softens a spice infusion of Cardamom, Saffron and Clove that livens up a floral heart of Sambac Jasmin Absolute, Tuberose, and Moroccan Rose Absolute. The spices blend with a crisp note of Cedar Wood, creating an almost Incense-like vibe. Oud Khanan blends with Grey Amber in the base, softened gently with Benzoin. A note of Tonkin Musk adds a hint of additional sweetness within its sultry smokiness. A final note of Vetiver adds a delicate earthy thread that plays well with the woods and spices. Everything lifts the Jasmin and Tuberose and you quickly become lost within the heavens.
