Sequence is a fruity, Leather, Oud scent created for Men and Women in 2026 by perfumer Julien Rasquinet.
Review
This scent starts off kind of sweet and spicy with the Raspberry and Saffron. It’s reminiscent of Raspberry Tea. The Lychee helps to boost the Raspberry note, and you can feel the Rose just under the surface, but the Oud and Leather creep up from the base pretty quickly, adding a rich depth that you can definitely feel, but isn’t too much. You can, surprisingly, still smell the Raspberry as that richness starts to set in. The Raspberry goes down a bit and the Oud and Leather come up, and they create an interesting balance. As things begin to settle, a subtle smoky essence develops. This smokiness, and the fruity essence of the Raspberry, seem to take turns shining as everything develops and dries down. You might not think the fruity essence of the Raspberry could thrive in an Amouage scent, but it sits beautifully within every layer.. It conjures an image of drinking a hot cup of Raspberry Tea, cuddled in a cozy blanket by the fireplace, as the rain mists down outside. It feels new and familiar, cozy, warm and rich. The double-infusion of sandalwood in Oakwood barrels during the maceration process gives this scent incredible performance. The Woody, Leathery depth makes it a great scent for the Fall and Winter weather. It can be worn in an office setting, if given a little bit of time to dry down, and will work for pretty much any and all occasions, whether casual or formal. It has been compared to The Moon from Frederic Malle.
Inspiration
Sequence is an olfactory expression of time, and the endless cycle of it - the circle. All things come back to their beginnings.
Notes
Lychee boosts a Raspberry note, which is given a subtle spiciness from Saffron. This combination almost smells like a juicy Raspberry Tea. The Osmanthus helps to boost the Rose in the heart, which blooms softly. It lends its familiar essence without making things become ‘floral’. Oud and Leather creep up from the base, adding a rich and softly smoky essence to the mix. Surprisingly, the Raspberry stays fairly prominent as the depth and richness sets into the scent. Tonka Bean and Ambery Woods bring a gentle and warm sweetness to the base of the scent, which boosts the Raspberry straight through to the end and tempering any sharpness you might expect from the Oud and Leather.
