Jean Desprez
Jean Desprez is a worldwide famous perfumer from France, great-grandson of perfumer F Millot. The only perfume so far produced by the house of Jean Desprez is Bal a Versailles, but the perfumer also designed fragrances independently, outside of the frames of the house. Jean Desprez was a first class perfumer who did not just follow trends, but invented them. His beautiful vintage classic perfumes were accompanied with outer packaging for his products designed by Paul Mergier and bottles designed by Leon Leyritz.

Bal a Versailles is view as the world’s most long-cherished and classically sensuous scent. The house of Jean Desprez designed it back in 1962 but it is still widely popular and used. Bal å Versailles belongs to the group of Floral Oriental fragrances and it is composed of more than 350 rare essences. Top notes of this perfume are rosemary, orange blossom, mandarin orange, cassia, jasmine, rose, neroli, bergamot, Bulgarian rose and lemon; middle notes are built around sandalwood, patchouli, lilac, orris root, vetiver, ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley; base notes rest on tolu balsam, amber, musk, benzoin, civet, vanilla, cedar and resins.
