Accord 119 is a warm, fruity, Ambery scent created for Women in 2011 by perfumer Richard Fraysse.
Review
This scent is soft, sweet and warm. It opens with a soft hit of Patchouli, almost making you feel like this is going to be a dirty scent. But then things mellow out. The fruity essences of Blackcurrant Buds and Blackberry take over, lifted slightly from a hint of Vanilla. Jasmine and Heliotrope add a very subtle floral flare, and then the warmth of Amber and Musk sets in. The scent settles softly on the skin, essentially becoming a berry infused skin scent with an Amber nuance. It’s slightly reminiscent of a bygone era, but feels very wearable today. Some combination of the notes almost gives that faint, scented doll hair vibe for a brief moment.. While it will last for quite a few hours on the skin, it will remain subtle and intimate. It will work well for any time, place, or occasion, but has a feeling of casual elegance. It is an easy to wear scent that can easily be dressed up or down, and will work in any weather. It has a similar style to something like BDK Parfums Bouquet de Hongrie with more warmth.
Inspiration
Accord 119 honors the Caron legacy of floral scents, and embraces the modern and sweet essence of fragrances that were popular around the time of its release. Accord translate to “Harmony”, and Accord 119 really does balance the two fragrance trends.
Notes
This scent opens with a sharp, but brief, Patchouli note. This Patchouli essence is reminiscent of the dirty essence that the plant can have. But this quickly fades into the background as the fruity essences of Blackcurrant Buds and Blackberry, boosted with a note of Vanilla. Egyptian Jasmine and Heliotrope add a subtle floral thread into the heart of the scent, giving a callback to the classic Caron fragrances. Black Pepper blends into the warmth of Musk and Amber, giving the overall feel of the scent an almost creamy decadence. The scent develops a consistent warmth in the end, but balances with a berry infused sweetness, ultimately feeling like a fabulous skin scent.
