Ambre Royal is a warm, sweet Amber scent created for Men and Women in 2016 by perfumer Geza Schoen.
Review
This scent is warm and sultry. Amber and Ambroxan blend with the creamy essence or Orris Butter, Orange Absolute, and Jasmine to create a scent that is otherworldly. It’s warmth gives off a ‘come hither’ attitude that makes it irresistible. As it dries down, though, the gentle citrus elements give it a more casual vibe. It dances the line between formal and casual, and will work well in either situation. You can wear it to the office or a black tie event, just as easily as you can wear it out running errands or for brunch with friends. Though it has light and dark moments, it will definitely last. It can be worn in all seasons, but is best suited for Fall, Winter, and early Spring. It has been compared to a blend of Thierry Mugler "Alien and.......". Inspiration
With so many Amber-like notes in perfume now, there was a desire for an Amber scent that recalls a time when real Amber was used in perfume. Ambre Royal is a modern retelling of the glamorous Amber scents of a bygone era.
Notes
This scent is warm and Amber right from the beginning. Amber lives in the heart, surrounded by a bouquet of flowers of Jasmine, Osmanthus, Rose, Orchid, and creamy Orris Butter, giving it a smooth and rounded feeling. Though the citrus notes of Orange and Bergamot sit at the top, they come in later in the dry down, adding a lightness before the warmth of the base sets in. Ambroxan is found in the base, bringing the Amber that has mellowed back to life. Tonka and Musk keep things smooth and sultry while cedar and Patchouli come in at the end to help keep things lasting.
