Review
This scent opens smoky, but fresh and aromatic at the same time. Saffron is less sweet than it is in other Saffron forward fragrances, as it is blended with Black Pepper Oil in the opening, and resinous Olibanum and a Black Leather Accord in the heart. Plum and Rose add a smoothness and just a faint sweetness. A woody base keeps the spiciness thriving and lingering. This scent doesn’t have a traditional Amber nuance, as notes of Sandalwood, Vanilla and Oakwood are combined to capture the more Leathery facets of an Amber note. With this, it feels a little bit Ambery without actually being Amber. The spiciness of the scent has a nice peppery zing to it that keeps it aromatic all the way through to the end, even as the Leather aspect intensifies in the dry down. Every now and then you get whiffs of the sweetness that Saffron usually reveals, but they are fleeting moments. It is a scent that feels best suited for Fall, Winter and the early Spring months. It can be worn in an office setting, and will work well for meetings, dates, weddings, and anytime you want to make an impression. It exudes a sense of confidence and mystery. Its spiciness will make it last on the skin. It has been compared to Hugo Boss Bottled Absolu and Mancera’s Red Tobacco.

Notes
This scent opens with Saffron and Black Pepper Oil to create a rich and smoky essence, while still being aromatic. The depth has a bit of an intensity as resinous Olibanum pairs with a Black Leather Accord in the heart of the scent. Plum and Turkish Rose Absolute combine to create a subtly sweet and smooth essence, allowing the spiciness of the scent to thrive without becoming too intense. In the base, Oakwood and Sandalwood Oil add a gentle woodiness, which never becomes too woody, but helps the spices to thrive to the end of the scent. Vanilla Bean comes in to finish the scent, working to help the Plum and Rose keep a smooth and slightly sweet undertone. The scent remains aromatic and smoky from start to finish.Â
