Bois du Portugal is a woody, aromatic, Lavender scent created for Men in 1987.
Review
This scent is a beautiful, Fougere style scent with a mature essence to it. Bergamot brightens the Lavender that dries down into the woods. It maintains both a care-free quality that is perfect for the office or casual settings, and an elegance that makes it suitable for formal occasions. It is wearable in all seasons and will last. It has been compared to Lalique Pour Homme(Lion) and Dior Eau Sauvage.
Inspiration
Bois du Portugal encapsulates the essence of the forests of the Iberian Peninsula in Portugal and Spain. Nearby, in the Alentejo region of Portugal, Lavender is grown in massive fields, releasing their calming aroma. Memories of visiting these places are built into the heart of this scent.
Notes
Bergamot brightens an earthy/floral note of Lavender that flourishes within each layer of this scent. Cedarwood adds a crisp/fresh wood quality to the heart, while Sandalwood and Ambergris add warmth within the base. A final note of Vetiver adds a subtle quality to the base of this scent, helping the Lavender to continue to shine within the woods.
