Carolina Herrera is a green, floral, Tuberose scent created for Women in 1988 by perfumers Carlos Benaim, Clement Gavarry and Rosendo Mateu.
Review
This scent is immediately bright and fresh. Apricot, Bergamot, and Green notes add a fresh, bright and slightly tart element to the opening of the scent.Tuberose and Jasmine stand out within a heart of blooming flowers, and a warm base of Oakmoss, Sandalwood and Amber add depth. It smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers straight from the farmer’s Market. You get the aroma of the fragrant flowers and the green tones of the fresh cut stems and leaves. This scent has a somewhat classic vibe that is elegant, timeless, and refined with a hint of a carnal sensuality. It’s a fragrance that exudes confidence. This is a scent that you can wear year-round, and will work for any time, place or occasion. It is often found in its Eau de Toilette version, but will last surprisingly long. It has been compared to Givenchy Amarige and Robert Piguet Fracas, and has a similar vibe to Tubereuse Imperiale from BDK Parfums. TRY THIS SAMPLE AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
Inspiration
Carolina Herrera was the first fragrance launched from the Carolina Herrera fashion house. Mrs. Herrera wanted a scent that represented her personal style; Elegant, refined, feminine.Â
Notes
This scent starts off a little bit green, and almost bitter, with a blooming floral bouquet. Apricot, Bergamot and Green notes bring a brightness to the opening of the scent.Brazilian Rosewood helps to add a bit of depth right from the start, but it’s not really detectable. Indian Tuberose, Jasmine and Spanish Jasmine shine bright within a bouquet with Orange Blossom, Ylang Ylang, Narcissus, Honeysuckle, Hyacinth and Lily of the Valley. In the base, the green nuances continue with Oakmoss and Vetiver, and the subtle green woodiness of Cedar. Civet and Musk add a wispy spiciness that lies under the surface and adds a hint of a zing to the warmth. Amber and Sandalwood help to add a very, very subtle creamy woody element to the finish of the scent. Overall, this is a carnal, yet elegant, floral fragrance.
