Champs de Provence is a citrus, floral, Musky scent created for Men and Women in 2017.
Review
This scent is immediately refreshing. Jasmine and Rose are both mellowed and brightened with Citruses and Pear, and given a gentle warmth from the Musk and Mate. You can imagine what that beautiful French landscape must have smelt like, and the pure happiness it would have created. The scent is invigorating and calming at the same time. It’s not too floral, and actually starts to develop a subtle green, slightly grassy, quality as it dries. It almost feels like sunshine and happiness in a bottle. The essence of a perfect Spring day in the Italian countryside has been captured in this scent. The blend makes it a great choice for those who love Orange Blossom scents. It can definitely be worn in any season, though it feels perfect for Spring and Summer, and can be worn any time, place, or occasion. It has been compared to some Hermes fragrances.
Inspiration
Champs de Provence was inspired by Albert Fouquet’s friends, Alessanddro and Chiara, and their villa in Provence where he spent many Spring seasons with them. During one such visit, Alessandro was telling Albert about his next diplomatic post, which would be in the Philippines, and how much he missed the beauty of Provence during these long trips. After Alessandro and Chiara had been settled in the Philippines, they received the gift of a fragrance created by Albert, that encompassed all the magnificent aromas of their Provencal landscape.
Notes
You can immediately feel the bright citruses in the opening of this scent. The Pear adds just a hint of sweetness just as the Jasmine and Rose begin to bloom. The sparkling freshness of the citruses, and gentle earthy essence of Moss, Musk and Mate, mellow the floral aromas so that they are never too floral, but add to the overall delicacy of the scent. It feels like a beautiful Spring day in the Italian countryside has been perfectly captured in a fragrance.
