Marem is a floral, Rose, green scent created for Women in 2014.
Review
This scent is Rosy and warm with an ever-so-slight vintage feel to it. It develops a creamy nuance over time, with the Crimean Rose note thriving throughout each layer. You can almost imagine the silent film star, retreating to her dressing room to rest after hours of filming. She lays on her chaise lounge chair, the quiet of her room calming her as her perfume scents the air, mixing with the beauty products and bouquets of flowers on her dressing table. It is a scent that can be worn to the office, but is much better suited for moments when you want to feel ultra feminine and elegant. It can be worn in any casual setting, can easily be dressed up for any formal occasion, and will work for any time, place, or setting in between. Though it will remain intimate, it will last. It has been compared to Eau de Protection from Etat Libre d’Orange. Try this sample and let us know what you think!
Inspiration
Marem is a reimagined perfume modeled after the original 1914 composition created for silent film actress, Alla Nazimova. Born Marem Levanton, she became known as “The Star of a Thousand Moods” as she made a name for herself living a life of freedom, creativity, and adventure in the Hollywood spotlight.
Notes
Red Currant and Neroli start this scent off on a slightly sweet note. Wild Eucalyptus is never too intense, but mellows everything perfectly. Crimean Rose comes in at the heart, lurking within each layer, and between each note. Liquid Amber wood and Cedarwood create warmth that never becomes too woody, but helps to create longevity.
