Review
This is a unique spicy scent with a quiet essence. Nutmeg and Tonka Bean mellow a note of Clove Buds and add a hint of sweetness. Ambrostar and Amber add some depth to Cedarwood, tempering its woodiness and somehow creating an essence slightly similar to Vetiver, all without truly smelling Ambery. Are you smelling Cedar or Vetiver? This is somehow a woody, spicy skin scent. As things begin to dry, you can smell hints of the Violet, but it’s always very fleeting. This scent is very muted, yet maintains a sophisticated elegance. It doesn’t quite have a clean mountain air aroma, but you can almost imagine yourself within a calm forest. It has a very gentle masculine lean to its style, but is a scent that anyone can wear who loves soft woods. It will last, but will remain very intimate and close to the skin. Inspiration
Nuit de Megeve was inspired by a magical evening in Albert Fouquet’s life. Not only was it the night that he ended up meeting the love of his life, it encapsulated unforgettable memories of friends, skiing, a magnificent dinner party, dancing, and drinks and conversation by the fireplace.
Notes
This scent starts off with a very subtle spice. The Nutmeg and Tonka Bean add a subtle sweetness, and mellow any intensity you might expect from the Clove Buds. There is Ambrostar and Amber in the base of this scent, but it doesn’t quite feel Ambery. It most likely tempers the sharpness from the Cedarwood, making the woody essence almost a whisper. Violet peeks out here and there, adding a faint green quality that pairs well with the Cedarwood. It almost smells like Vetiver, but if you close your eyes and really sniff, you can tell it’s Cedar. The overall feel is aromatic and woody.
