Perseus is a fresh, citrusy, woody scent created for Men in 2024 by perfumer Nathalie Templer.
Review
This scent is incredibly refreshing with an opening that is full of citrus notes. Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Mandarin are super refreshing and bright. Vetiver comes up from the heart, adding its gentle earthy quality, while Dry Woods and Amber add a gentle warmth to the drydown. As it dries on the skin, it becomes warmer and stays close to the skin, but stays bright. It is the memories of eating citruses under the Summer sun bottled up into a sophisticated fragrance. It can be worn any time or place, for any occasion, and in any weather, though is best suited for casual moments in the sunshine. It has been compared to Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree.
Inspiration
Perseus is inspired by early mornings at the Chateau de Marly, when the sun is just brightening the sky, life is blooming and the fountains are sparkling. In addition to this, Perseus celebrates the radiance of citrus.
Notes
Grapefruit is noticed immediately upon spraying this scent. Bergamot and Green Mandarin follow closely, boosting the citrus essence of this scent. Vetiver lives in the heart, adding its iconic, gently earthy, gently grassy essence that always pairs well with citrus. Geranium comes in next, hyping the Vetiver note up perfectly. Dry Woods and Cashmere Wood are paired with the creamy essence of Ambergris, adding warmth without overpowering the overall lightness. The citrus essence of this scent lasts within the warmth.
