Review
This scent is perfect for lovers of a traditional style Rose fragrance. It’s not quite powdery, but has an essence that is almost like real Roses, and leans slightly vintage in style. Rose de Mai Absolute(Centifolia Rose) is blended with Geranium Rose, a Geranium known as Rose Scent Geranium, giving a gentle Green nuance to the dry down. Musk comes in at the end, adding a bit of depth, and taking things one step closer to powdery, but still not quite going all the way. You can almost you’re in that Rose field in Provence, picking Roses during the harvest season. It is a scent that can be worn any time, place or occasion, and in any weather. Though Rose is traditionally feminine in style, this scent was created to be worn by anyone, and truly can be. It has been compared to Estee Lauder Pleasures, and has similarities to Tea Rose from The Perfumer’s Workshop and Paris from Yves Saint Laurent.
Inspiration
Rose de Mai is inspired by childhood memories of Jean-Claude helping his grandmother with the Rose harvest in the early summertime in Provence, France.
Notes
Rose de Mai is present immediately, giving that traditional, familiar Rose aroma. Geranium Rose comes in, adding its natural Rose-like essence, but with a more herbal vibe, giving the composition Green tones. Immortelle lays just under the surface, blending into these other floral essences. Musk comes in at the end, bringing depth to the dry down.
