Sel d’Argent is a Musky, aquatic, floral scent created for Men and Women in 2020 by perfumer Anne-Sophie Behaghel.
Review
This scent is soft and effervescent. The Grapefruit and Salt open this scent with a bright and airy essence. A very subtle floral tone comes from the Orange Blossom, which feels like it makes the citrus notes pop. Ylang Ylang can be felt just under the surface, adding a faint, fleeting, sweetness. The base adds a very subtle warm Amber essence to the scent. It feels like a soft floral breeze caressing your face while you’re sitting on a log at the beach on a calm, quiet day. It kind of has that beach-infused salty, floral skin aroma to it. It’s a soft and subtle beachy scent with a quiet elegance. It is a universal fragrance, but leans ever-so-slighty feminine in its style. Its airy essence has a more casual vibe to it, but it can easily be dressed up and will work for any occasion. It has a softness to it that will make it more intimate and soft on the skin, but it will last. It has been compared to French Riviera by Mancera and Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and has a slight similarity to the Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey fragrances.Â
Inspiration
Sel d’Argent is an ode to the sea. It captures a sense of calm, marine air and salty breezes, salt on the skin, the perfect Mediterranean getaway.Â
Notes
As this scent opens you get a bright, fizzy essence of the Bergamot and Grapefruit blending with the Salt Accord. Orange Blossom adds its faint citrus-like floral essence, and the Ylang Ylang hides just under the surface adding the faintest sweetness to the scent. Galbanum brings a whisper of a resinous component that segues nicely into the warmth of Ambroxan, Timbersilk and Cashmeran. White Musk adds a wispy quality to the finish of the scent. Overall, it feels like a soft, sweet, ocean breeze on the skin.
