Review
This scent is a powerful, and slightly challenging, Vetiver scent that blends multiple types of Vetiver with Amberwood and Leather. It makes one think of being in fields of fresh Vetiver being cut from the earth in the Summer heat….the grassy, raw, essence filling your senses as the roots and dirt are exposed to the air. Its beastly energy feels humid and dark. It might not be the best scent to wear to the office unless you’ve let it dry down quite a bit. It is great for cooler weather and evening occasions, can be worn in all seasons, and will last for hours. It has an vibe similar to the Lalique Encre Noire fragrances, but with much more depth, and has been compared to Dior’s Eau Sauvage Parfum. Try this sample and let us know what you think!
Inspiration
This is a heavenly scent for the Vetiver lover that combines Javanese, Bourbon, Haitian, and Brazilian Vetivers into one scent. Just as the Sultans and Kings were the conquerors of their ages, Sultan Vetiver conquers the Vetiver genre.
Notes
Javanese Vetiver opens this scent, paired with the chaotic essence of Absinthe and the peppery essence of Schinus Molle. A touch of Bergamot creates a gentle brightness as Bourbon and Haitian Vetiver blossoms in the heart. Tonka adds a soft sweetness that tries to mellow things, just before the warmth of the base sets in. Brazilian Vetiver adds a final grassy, earthy boost to the end of this scent, paired with rich Amberwood and smoky Leather. The depth of Vetiver is seemingly endless.
