Review
This scent is intriguing. It opens with an interesting combination of spicy, sweet, tart/bitter aromas. The Pink Peppercorns and Lemon open the scent with a unique sparkly spicy quality, and at the same time the Plum and Chocolate Accord add a dark sweetness. The Turkish Rose unfolds slowly, peppered with the depth of Tobacco, Patchouli, Labdanum. It’s dark and rich and opulent. This feels like the scent your rich aunt wears….the lady who almost never makes it to the family functions, but when she does her arrival is a whole production. She smells exotic and has the best of the best of everything. Even with this image in mind, this is absolutely a unisex Rose scent that anyone can wear. Over time, everything mellows, but it maintains a rich depth. It is a scent that can be worn in an office setting, but its opulent essence makes it more suitable for special occasions. Big meetings when you want to make an impression, date night, any formal setting, evenings when you’re out and want to be noticed and intrigue those around you, It’s rich essence will make it last forever on the skin. Inspiration
Tabac Rose was created as a scent that demands attention. It’s a juxtaposition of light and dark, elegant and carnal. It’s mysterious and powerful, yet remarkable straightforward.
Notes
This scent opens with an interesting fresh, tart, bitter, sweet combination that is almost jarring to the senses. But then the notes start to flow and blend, and something beautiful unfolds. Pink Peppercorns blend with Lemon to open the scent with a bright and invigorating, yet spicy and zesty essence. The Plum comes in next, adding a dark sweetness that is almost juicy, but not quite. The Plum then takes a dive into the dark with a warm Chocolate Accord. You can also feel the Tobacco, Patchouli and Labdanum creeping up from the base, taking charge and creating a lot of intensity before things begin to tone down. As the light and dark juxtaposition adjusts, the Turkish Rose Absolute begins to reveal itself. Tuberose, Ylang Ylang and both Sambac and Egyptian Jasmine combine to boost the velvety and petally qualities of the Rose without taking anything away from it. As the scent dries, and everything blends together, it becomes a scent of Rose floating upon spices and resins.
