Tabac Royal is a spicy, Vanilla, woody scent created for Men and Women in 2011 by perfumer Antonio Visconti.
Review
This scent is an opulent scent that blends Tobacco, Vanilla, and citrus essences. It borders on Fougere in style, but never quite goes fully in that direction. The Vanilla sweetens the sharper nuances of this scent without becoming too sweet. A perfect balance is found in this scent. It can be worn at the office, but is better suited for elegant or intimate occasions, or anytime you want to feel your best. It has been compared to a more elegant version of Maison Martin Margiela’s Jazz Club, and another Antonio Visconti creation called Tabarom.
Inspiration
Tabac Royal takes inspiration from the forbidden desire of a smuggled cigar. The tantalizing aroma of an aged cigar box, its secret treasures long gone. The refinement and elegance of a smoking room where secrets were told and good times had.
Notes
A burst of Lemon fills this scent with its refreshing essence, brightening a spice blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Pink Pepper, and our first infusion of Tobacco. In the heart we find Tobacco Leaves entwined with the delicate floral essence of Heliotrope. The composition becomes elegantly sweetened with Vanilla Absolute, which segues effortlessly into a note of creamy Sandalwood in the base. In this layer we find Tobacco Absolute paired with the earthy essence of Patchouli, ending this scent with a perfectly balanced blend.
