Fragrance Spotlight: Carolina Herrera

This blog is going to be about the original Carolina Herrera fragrance. A scent that most people probably don’t even know exists.

Carolina Herrera grew up in Venezuela. Her grandmother was a socialite, and introduced Carolina to the world of high fashion at a young age. She became well known for her dramatic style, and was elected into the International Best Dressed List’s Hall of Fame in 1980.

Legendary Vogue editor, Diana Vreeland, encouraged Carolina to create her own fashion line, which she introduced in 1981.

In 1988, Carolina Herrera, the brand’s namesake fragrance was launched as their first ever scent for the brand.

In childhood, Carolina room overlooked a large Jasmine vine. In the evenings the flowers would bloom and release their intoxicating aroma. When she set out to create her first fragrance, she wanted a scent that captured her personal style - elegance, refinement, effortless grace and femininity - as well as her childhood memories of Jasmine.

The fragrance is an intoxicating, bold and mature floral scent bursting with Jasmine, Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Green Notes, Oakmoss, Cedar, Sandalwood and Amber.

It is bold and striking, yet refined, fresh and elegant, opening with bright, green and floral, like a fresh bouquet of flowers from the farmer’s market. As it dries, the warm comes out and the scent develops a hint of mystery and seduction.

The bottle was designed to look like a piece of jewelry, with an Art Deco style.

The original Carolina Herrera fragrance has been described as a boss-babe scent, and we fully agree! It captures the attention, intoxicates the senses and makes you feel beautiful and confident.

If you love a good Tuberose/Jasmine scent, this is absolutely one worth seeking out and trying.
