Fragrance Inspiration Pt.5

The inspirations behind fragrances can be a fun way to experience a scent.

Sometimes you hear the story and the scent perfectly captures it. This can happen to a degree that, you can smell a fragrance, your imagination tells you a story, you look up the fragrance, and its inspiration is exactly what you pictured.

Lalique Amethyst - This scent was inspired by Rene Lalique’s Epines(Thorns) glassware creations. This collection was designed in the early 1900s, and the pieces are adorned with entwining brambles and Blackberry accents. The fragrance is filled with the juicy aromas of Blackberries, the fruit of the briar, alongside other sparkling fruit notes like Blackcurrant, Blueberry, Mulberry and Strawberry. Peony, Rose and Ylang Ylang create a very subtle floral heart, while Musk and Woody Notes add a hint of depth that keeps the lighter notes thriving. It is sparkly and fresh and sweet. The fragrance bottle design reveals images of brambles and Blackberries.

Tiziana Terenzi Kirke - This scent was inspired by Circe, the Greek Goddess of magic, sorcery and transformation, sometimes called Kirke, from the epic poem The Odyssey. In this story, our main character, Odysseus, gets mixed up with Circe and ends up becoming her lover and lives on her island with her for over a year. The fragrance blends fruits, soft flowers and a warm Sand note with the depth of Sandalwood and Patchouli to create an aroma that almost feels like you’re on Circe’s island, watching the island grasses move gently with the sea breeze, as she concocts her potions.

Mind Games Scholar’s Mate - This scent was inspired by wooden Chess boards and a Japanese wood preservation technique, called Shou Sugi Ban, where wooden surfaces are charred by fire to create a protective layer of charcoal. The fragrance is subtly woody and smoky with spices and resins blended with Sandalwood and Cedarwood, and given a smooth brightness with Grapefruit, Orris and Fig Milk.

When you smell these fragrances, you can picture exactly what the perfumers were going for while creating these fragrances.

You can find the above scents at Parfumerie Nasreen!
