Rene-Jules Lalique began his career creating jewelry in 1885. He eventually moved on to enamel and glass pieces, as well as architecture, and finally began working with Francois Coty in 1907 creating perfume bottles.

In this blog, we’ll be talking specifically about Lalique de Lalique, the very first fragrance created by the house.
Rene Lalique’s Grand-Daughter, Marie-Claude, became the CEO in 1977, renewing the company’s history with jewelry making, and started their endeavor into fragrances.
Lalique de Lalique was created in 1992. It has become such an icon of the Lalique house, that each year a limited edition Lalique Crystal bottle is created.
The fragrance is timeless and elegant, with a modern twist.
It opens with a floral blend of Jasmine, Orris, Rose Essence, and hint of depth with Clove Flower. The heart is bright and fresh with Pear Granita, Blackberry, and Blackcurrant Leaves. The combination has a hint of a soapy essence, Aldehydic in style, but is bright and sparkling with the fruit essences. Sandalwood and White Musks add the perfect amount of depth without turning anything too rich. Vanilla finishes the scent, not making anything become “Vanilla”, but helping to keep the fruity sweetness lasting.
