Nishane is a Turkish brand that launched in 2012. Hacivat was released just a few short years later in 2017.
It is a woody, citrusy, mossy fragrance created by perfumer Jorge Lee.
A pulsating note of Pineapple is boosted with the additional freshness of Bergamot and Grapefruit, and given a unique depth with Jasmine and Patchouli. Oakmoss and Timberwood give a slightly woody, slightly mossy finish. It is popularly compared to Creed Aventus.

The inspiration for Hacivat is a shadow Play called Karagoz And Hacivat, a story about two construction workers who were constantly messing around and causing shenanigans and distracting the other workers and causing delays. After the ruler is made aware of what’s going on, Karagoz and Hacivat are executed to make an example. They were so missed that their adventures are immortalized in the shadow play.
In 2023, Nishane released their X Collection. I celebrated their 10th anniversary with 5 new fragrances that were reimagined versions of their top sellers. One of these fragrances was Hacivat X, created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet.
This updated version maintains the Hacivat DNA with a sweeter, fresher essence. It is a citrus, fruity, woody scent that was designed to mute the sharper edges of the original. It’s lighter composition shares similarities with Elysium Pour Homme from ROJA and Creed Aventus Cologne.

With great success from both fragrances, Hacivat Oud was released later in 2023 as well. As part of the Prestige Collection, notably different with the gold plated filigree on the bottle, Hacivat Oud is a more complex fragrance.
This is as a chypre, woody, oriental fragrance, and is described as being much more rich, strong, and opulent. Reviews describe Havicat Oud as dirty, skanky, and heavy, and not for the light-hearted, but with the familiar Hacivat undertones.
