Fracas is one of the great classic scents that has survived for nearly 80 years!
It was originally created in 1948 by perfumer Germaine Cellier, reformulated in 1998, and from 2007 on, Aurelien Guichard has made any necessary changes.
So far, pretty much every woman I have ever talked to about Fracas has said that most of the reformulations have kept close to the original, and they still love it after wearing it for decades.
Cellier created Fracas to be a bombshell scent, both for the wearer and those that encountered her. And it truly is.
It is a dynamic floral fragrance comprised of Tuberose, Jasmine and Gardenia. It has a creamy nuance to it that is glamorous and provocative. It feels both carnal and comfortable, and is ultra feminine. It can also sometimes feel like you’re surrounded by bushels of freshly picked flowers. It has a brightness to it that feels like you could wear it everyday for anything and everything. It feels like the scent you wear to a garden party, drinks with friends, or anytime you simply want to feel your best and most beautiful, but also something you would wear with your little black dress on date night and formal occasions.
The fragrance pyramid breaks down as:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin
Heart Notes: Tuberose, Jasmine, Gardenia
Base Notes: Sandalwood Musk
The citruses add a gentle, bright, almost sunshiney quality, the Sandalwood adds a creamy warmth, and Musk brings a touch of sensuality. The blend is intoxicating.
While it does have a certain maturity to it, it is definitely something that anyone who adores Tuberose, Jasmine, or Gardenia, or just a good, creamy, white floral scent, should try at least once in their life.
