Celebrations of motherhood have been traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals to honor the mother Goddesses.

Modern day Mother’s Day became an official U.S. holiday in 1914, and is celebrated in many countries on the second Sunday in May each year.

Over time, it became a way to honor not only your mother, but the motherly figures in your life. Grandmothers, Aunts, best friends, or simply any of the women who mean so much to us in our lives, and sometimes even Father’s who have had to do it alone.

Mother’s Day is a day to acknowledge the hard work that our mother’s do to make our lives easier. A day to make it known that we see their sacrifices, their teachings, and their love.

It is a day we can put all other things aside and take some time for our moms.
