Parfums de Marly, founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, celebrates the era of King Louis XV. It is a collection that pays homage to the history of the 18th century, when the King would escape to the Chateau de Marly, his infamous horse races, and his love for perfume and fragrances.
The court of the King was so obsessed with fragrances, they were dubbed the “Perfumed Court”. The fountains of Chateau de Marly were always scented with perfume, and with a new era in ‘self-care’, the lavish bath houses, the Pavillion des Bains, were eventually built.
Julien Sprecher was inspired by this historical time, and this King, and sought to build a perfume house that blended tradition and modernity.
Working with perfumer Quentin Bisch, the Delina collection was born.
In 2017, Delina was created, and took the world by storm. A blend of Turkish Rose, Peony, sweet Lychee, fresh Bergamot, and tart Rhubarb are warm perfectly with touches of sultry Musk, creamy Cashmeran Wood, and earthy Vetiver.
The result was a refreshingly modern Rose scent for the 21st century.
With the success of Delina, work began on expanding this decadent floral scent, and Delina Exclusif was launched in 2018.
If Delina was a walk through a magnificent garden on a beautiful, sunny, afternoon, then Delina Exclusif became the beauty of the evening. The warm rays of the setting sun. The beautiful essence of dusk.
Taking the essence of its original counterpart, Delina Exclusif blends Lychee with Pear and Grapefruit, creating a slightly sweeter essence. Turkish Rose is blended with Incense and Vetiver at the heart for a slightly warmer tone. In the base, Vanilla comes together with Musk and Evernyl, a synthetic Moss note, boosting the Vanilla and making it more prominent and divine in this interpretation.
We often describe Delina Exclusif as Delina with an added touch of Vanilla.
The success of the Delina collection continued, and in 2021 Delina La Rosee was released.
Quentin Bisch was quoted as saying that Delina La Rosee was like a prelude, a prequel to the first two Delina releases.
If Delina is afternoon, and Delina Exclusif the evening, Delina La Rosee is the morning.
It boasts a freshness and lightness that even the original Delina does not quite reach.
It is like an early morning walk through the ethereal garden. Life is waking, the early morning rays of the sun are peaking through the trees, the dew is still on the flower petals, and there is still a light chill in the air.
Delina La Rosee keeps its essence of Delina with Lychee, Bergamot, Turkish Rose, and Peony, and adds an accord of Transparent Flowers at its heart, giving this perfume a delicate floral essence. Soft Woods are added to the base with White Musk and grassy Vetiver, helping to keep this scent lasting, while still maintaining its lightness.
With the never ending success of the Delina collection, the Shower Gel, Hair Perfume, and Body Cream were all eventually added, as well as travel and discovery scents.
