Fragrance Spotlight: Tea Rose from The Perfumer's Workshop

Tea Rose is the Rose of all Rose fragrances created sometime around 1977 by perfumer Annie Buzantian for The Perfumer’s Workshop.

It is a timeless, elegant, classic, simple, honest, true Rose fragrance.

It blends Tea Rose, Damask Rose and Bulgarian Rose with a hint of Peony. A green quality is achieved with Geranium Leaves, Violet Leaves and Cedarwood. A hint of Chamomile plays up that ever-so-subtle spicy essence that real Roses can have.

The scent pyramid breaks down as:

Top Notes: Peony, Chamomile

Heart Notes: Tea Rose, Damask Rose, Bulgarian Rose

Base Notes: Geranium Leaves, Violet Leaves, Cedarwood

This blend captures the fresh, green and leafy essence of the entire Rose plant, not just its floral essence. It captures the essences of the petals, the stems, the thorns, and the leaves all at the same time.

It has an aroma like if you buried your face in a fresh bouquet of Roses…..or perhaps you stuck your head into the depths of a Rose bush filled with open blooms.

I can imagine that this is what it would smell like to stand in the middle of the Rose Valley in Bulgaria.

The Rose essence is so potent and intoxicating, even in its Eau de Toilette version.

It almost has a vintage-meets-modern Rose essence, but is more green and vibrant vs “old” and powdery.

It’s a fascinating, almost realistic, Rose fragrance that you should try at least once in your life if you love Rose in your fragrances.

You can find Tea Rose in the Eau de Toilette at Parfumerie Nasreen!
